StrategiesA youngman was hurrying down a street to see his former teacher. The young man’s talland good-looking. He calls himself an international learner because he hadstudied a lot of subjects in a lot of places. The last country he stayed was Japan, hestudies medicine there. Now he is in Toronto.He plans to study more medicine in the University of Toronto.But right now his ex-teacher is the most important to him. It’s his ex-teacherwho had taught him lots of important things.
Suddenly,a figure appeared behind him: It’s a man with his face covered in black clothesand wearing a black suit. Apparently he’s a killer.
“Who areyou? Are you after me?” The man asked, wondering if he could receive a reply ornot.
Thekiller just grins, then jumps up and disappeared. When the man raises his headand figuring where the killer had went, he heard a voice high above him:
“Todaywill be your last day on earth! Now it’s time for what you had done last yearin Japan!”
With thesound, the killer delivered a heavy blow on the man’s forehead and knocked himout.
Thekiller then murmured: “Now it’s the end.” He then took out a nail from his clothesand hammered it into the man’s nose. Then he disappeared in the darkness.


The manwoke up and found himself in a white place. Then he saw light, a strong light, andthen a girl appeared above him. The light was coming from her wings on her back… Wait a minute, WINGS?!
“Am Idead? Are you an angel?” He asked the girl.
Aftersome explanation, the man learnt a good thing: He didn’t die; the “wing” of thegirl is actually a decoration from her bag which is so shiny that it seemsreal. In fact, everyone who put on the girl’s bag will like an angel because ofthe shiny wings. The girl explained the reason why she saved him.
“Becauseyou saved my father last year in Japan, remember? You once saved aman from being crushed by a truck didn’t you?”
The manthought for a while, and then slowly he said: “Yes, if I weren’t there on thatday, the old man would certainly die under the truck! But why do this and thekiller related? Why did somebody wants to kill ME?”

“Well, myfather was a very good martial artist from China, he’s really talented andjoined a ninja clan in Japan, The clan is doing great on martial art, but whenmy father dug deeper into the clan he found the clan’s boss is strongly againstChinese people, so he decided to quit. But the clan’s people didn’t want himto. So he sent out a truck and tried to make him silent. But he failed becauseof your presence. So he sends out a ninja to kill you, his codename is “Submarine”.”
“I neversaw an English-Speaking ninja before. I figured that all of the ninjas areJapanese.” The man said, “So who is he anyway?”
The girldidn’t know either. She continued to tell her story. Her father died last year,and before his death he left the words that the clan won’t give up hunting him.Now that he’s dead that the clan will hunting for the man who saved himinstead. Her name is Lin Liang. And it really was she who saved the man.
The girlthen took out an X-ray photo: “That is what you are when you arrived at thehospital.”
The manthought, if he had a nail stabbed in his brain he’ll be surely dead, then whyis he still here? He asked that question.
The girlsaid nothing, but took a flower from the vase near the men’s bed, the men issurprised to see that the withered flower suddenly become alive and beautifulagain.
“Isn’tthat another ninja skill that you used?” The man was more than surprised.
“No, it’spsychic power.” The girl grinned “You can’t judge a person only by her size canyou? I’ll tell you I am only 13. ”
“WHAT?ONLY 13? While I’m in your age……” The man shouted.
“Butthere’s an irony that I must protect you. Since my age is much smaller thanyours.” the girl smiled.
A fewdays later, the man was doing OK and get out from the hospital. The girlstarted to make a plan on how to make them safe.
“First, Iwant to know your name, you wouldn’t like me call you “The Man” will you?”
“Well,call me Noah then.”
Becausethe killer never made his own appearance, that’s not going to be an easyproblem, in China,there is an old strategy: “When the enemy is unseen then we must wait for achance.” Now the two are waiting for a chance.
Accordingto Lin’s guesses, the killer must had known the fact that Noah wasn’t dead; so itis obvious that he will find another chance. Noah suggested that they should dothe total thing again: running down in a small street “alone” and wait for thekiller approach him again.
Linrejects that idea. “If the killer is as stupid as what you thought, you’llcompletely fail! I suggest that you just wait here in your hotel. I’ll staywith you.”
The nextevening, they went to the hotel hall for their supper. Their age is theirperfect disguise – Lin is Noah’s little sister. They came to a table and thewaiter showed them a menu. They ordered a dish and wait for their dishes toarrive.
After avery long while, the dish came. To their surprise, there is also a soup comeswith the dish. The waiter explains that it’s a free gift from the president ofthe hotel.
After thewaiter left, Lin took down her sliver bracelet and took a bowl, she poured abit of soup into the bowl and put the bracelet in it. To their surprise, thebracelet turned black.
“It’spoisonous.” She said simply. Then she shouted, “Waiter!”
“Yes?”The waiter went back. “Anything wrong?”
“Well,thank you for the soup, will you share the gift from the president with me?”
“U—Uh…. Ithink I’d better go……”
“Hehe……”another waiter saw that and said to him “There is no waiter who refuse to takethe customer’s offer, isn’t there?”
So thewaiter had drunk the soup, after a while, he fell to the floor, trembling inpain.
“So isit,” Noah said, “He will spend a while in the hospital, won’t he?”
“Thebetter thing is he can’t go hunt you again, the ninja clan won’t accept asecond failure. I think he will commit suicide or disappear after that.” Linwalks out, “My mission is done there, I’d go home, there is no fun to stay witha 19-year-old man. Besides, you had no interest in me. I’m certain about it.”
Noahstood there, watching Lin’s figure disappeared into the night. “In fact, I havesome interest in you…… But not on that thing.” He thought. Then heturned around and went to the telephone booth.
“Hello,teacher. This is Noah. Sorry for the delay. I- I came here 3 days ago—Yeah, something happened… along story… Anyway, I’ll be at your door 30 minuteslater. OK! Bye!”






TORONTO- The nurses in Toronto Hospitalwon’t believe this.A man died of poison had found in one of the wards. The strange thing is thatthe man was in the hospital because of poison.
“When he was sent into our hospital,he was poisoned by some Eastern poison, we tried to remove them and succeed.” Said the leading doctor, Mr. Edgar Granger, “But he was found dead the next day in his ward,he was poisoned again, but this time using KCN, a more modern poison, if in myopinion.”
The police had started to checkthe man’s death, butthey didn’t found anything helpful.
